MILWAUKEE -- A new Marquette University Law School poll released Wednesday afternoon shows presumptive Democratic candidate for president Hillary Clinton has a seven-point lead over her GOP opponent, Donald Trump, among Wisconsin voters.
Clinton registered 42 percent support in the poll among registered voters, while Trump had 35 percent. In the March poll, Clinton had 47 percent while Trump had 37.
Among likely voters, the numbers change slightly: Clinton gets 46 percent, while Trump trails with 37.
13 percent say they will support neither candidate.
Bernie Sanders would fare even better against Trump in Wisconsin, the poll suggests. In a hypothetical Sanders-Trump matchup, Sanders has a remarkable 25-point lead, 56 to 31 among registered voters.
In Wisconsin's Senate race, Russ Feingold still leads current Senator Ron Johnson, but it's a close one. Feingold has 45 percent of registered voters' support, while Johnson has 41.
Feingold also lead Johnson when it came to likely voters. Among the 666 likely voters polled 51 percent favored Feingold while 42 percent favored Johnson.
The poll surveyed 800 registered voters by landline and cell phone between June 9 and 12. Notably, that means only one day of polling happened after the Orlando mass shooting, but Poll Director Charles Franklin said the results from Sunday night were not different from other nights.
