A Marinette County man has opted for a plea deal on several felonies he faced in the wake of winning a $31.4 million Powerball jackpot in 2009.
The charges against 50-year-old Douglas Miron grew out of his alleged obsession with a teenage girl he hired to clean the house he bought with his prize money.
Miron pleaded no contest Oct. 21 to amended charges of stalking, one count of second-degree reckless endangerment and counts of resisting or obstructing an officer, and intentionally pointing a firearm at someone. He originally was scheduled to begin a complex trial Nov. 1.
Miron is scheduled for sentencing in January before Door County Circuit Judge Todd Ehlers. He is free on a $100,000 signature bond.
