A town of Grover man involved in a domestic disturbance and armed standoff Sunday is in the Marinette County Jail after threatening law enforcement officials.

At 10:56 a.m. Sunday the Marinette County Central Dispatch center received a 911 call from a woman who reported that there was a domestic disturbance occurring at N4380 Highway W in the town of Grover, according to a press release from Marinette County Sheriff Jerry Sauve. The residence was occupied by several individuals including other adults and children.

During the law enforcement response the communications center was advised that a resident of the home, Justin G. Bunker, 25, was arming himself with several loaded firearms while making threats directed at responding law enforcement officials. Initial attempts by crisis negotiators to make telephone contact with the man were unsuccessful but at about 12 p.m. some negotiations had occurred and the man allowed all other occupants to leave the residence without incident. At about 2:14 p.m. the man surrendered peacefully and was taken into custody without incident.

Bunker is currently in the Marinette County Jail, booked on charges of disorderly conduct, being armed while intoxicated, and five counts of recklessly endangering safety. Charging referrals have been forwarded to the Marinette County District Attorney's Office for review.

Responding to the scene and assisting were members of the Brown County Sheriff's Office Armored vehicle unit, Marinette Police, Peshtigo Police, Crivitz Police, Wisconsin State Patrol, Wisconsin DNR, Marinette Emergency Rescue Squad and Bay Area Medical Center Paramedics.
