Manitowoc police are warning the public about the escape of what the department calls 'Violent Sexual Offender.' Rene Antero Rodriguez reportedly slipped off his electronic monitoring device and was not at his assigned residence when officials visited for a scheduled check. His whereabouts are unknown.
Rodriguez has a lengthy criminal record which includes assault, robbery, theft and burglary. He's also known to use edged weapons according to a news release.
The criminal was staying at a home on HWY 151 since last fall. Anyone who may have information should contact local police or dial 911.
