A Manitowoc Police Officer was arrested for operating while under the influence on Saturday October 15.
The 9-year-veteran of the Manitowoc Police Department was off duty at the time.
At 9:00 p.m. Manitowoc County Sheriff's Deputies received a complaint about a vehicle swerving on Interstate 43.
A deputy located the vehicle on HWY 310 while it was turning into the park and ride.
The driver was arrested for an OWI and taken to the Manitowoc County Jail.
"The Manitowoc Police Department takes these allegations seriously, and it is an unfortunate circumstance," says Chief Nick Reimer. "As law enforcement officers we are held to a higher standard, and we understand the public deserves much better than this from us."
