A Manitowoc man accused of leading troopers on a chase that ended on the runway at Wittman Regional Airport was found not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect Monday.
Lee Konop, 56, has been committed to the Department of Health Services.
Troopers tried to stop Konop while he was driving on I-41 in March. He tried to flee and exited at STH 44, driving into Oshkosh, State Patrol said.
Konop allegedly entered airport property by ramming through a gate, then drove around access roads around the airport before entering onto the runway area.
His vehicle allegedly stopped between two runways in the middle portion of the airport.
Konop will be back in court on July 13.
