Authorities have updated information on a crash that killed a 74-year-old man on December 11.
The man killed has been identified as Robert Roland from Pembine. He was driving a 2017 Toyota Tacoma in the crash. Roland's passenger has been identified as 73-year-old Mary Lou Roland, who survived the crash and was taken to Aurora Bay Care with life-threatening injuries.
According to a news release from Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Robert Roland was driving on State Highway 180 near Old C. WisDOT says Roland crossed the double yellow center-line and crashed head-on with a Chevrolet Traverse that was heading eastbound on the same highway. Robert Roland was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Chevrolet Traverse has been identified as 43-year-old Larry Feltner from Wausaukee. He was taken to Froedtert Hospital with life threatening injuries.
The Wisconsin State Patrol is investigating the crash. It's not clear what caused Roland to cross the center-line. The report from WisDOT indicates that none of the parties involved were using alcohol at the time of the crash and everyone was using their seatbelt.
