After a three day jury trial, a Fond du Lac man was found guilty of abusing his then live-in girlfriend's 13-month-old child in 2014.

Jason Schifelbine, 36, was charged with Physical Abuse of a Child: Intentionally Causing Great Bodily Harm. He was found guilty last Wednesday, June 14.

In August of 2014, the child was found unconscious at St. Agnes Hospital and was flown to Children's Hospital in Milwaukee, according to court documents.

A forensic pediatrician testified at Schifelbine's trial that the injuries the child suffered were "highly unusual" and showed a strong indication of suspected child abuse, District Attorney Eric Toney said.

Judge Gary Sharpe revoked Schifelbine's bond, and sentencing will be held at a later date.
