An 18-year-old Green Bay man was in Brown County court Thursday.

Joseph Obert-Walton was arrested Wednesday for allegedly leading Wisconsin State Troopers and Brown County Sheriff’s Deputies on a high speed chase before it ended in a crash.

Obert-Walton was with Second-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Fleeing Officers and Causing Injury While Driving Under the Influence.

According to court documents, deputies attempted to pull over Obert-Walton, but he continued driving, reaching speeds of more than 130 miles per hour. He eventually crashed, rolling the car several times, throwing Obert-Walton from the car.

Deputies say an 18-year-old De Pere woman was a passenger. They say she was wearing a seatbelt and had minor injuries.

The criminal complaint states the passenger told deputies Obert-Walton had been drinking prior to the crash and during the investigation state troopers found an open beer can in the car. The driver allegedly smelled of alcohol and his speech was slurred.

Bond was set for Obert-Walton at $6,000. He'll be back in court on August 31st.
