A Manitowoc man spent the night in jail after making threats to a Manitowoc police officer.
Manitowoc police responded to a fight at Revolutions Bar on York St., between two men in their 30's.
Once both men were arrested and in police custody, the older of the two men threatened to kill the officer and his family. The threat was captured on the squad car's audio recorder.
Manitowoc police say they will not tolerate anyone who threatens the lives of police officers or their families.
The man making the threats was held on the felony charge of Battery or Threats to a Judge, Prosecutor, or Law Enforcement Officer.
That is a new statute, that was enacted in November of 2015.
