Man arrested after running from police

Posted

A man is behind bars after fleeing police in Winnebago County.

Deputies say a state trooper tried to stop the man for speeding Friday afternoon in Neenah.  The man was driving a Saturn northbound on I-41 near Breezewood Lane.

Earlier that day the same vehicle had eluded from a traffic stop by a Winnebago County Sheriff's deputy in the City of Oshkosh.

The state trooper followed the Saturn, which then made a sharp turn at the County Highway BB exit.

The driver lost control of the vehicle and hit a concrete wall on the exit ramp.  The driver of that Saturn then fled on foot from police.

A female passenger got into the driver's seat and drove to a nearby gas station on County Highway BB where she was arrested.

Deputies searched the area for the driver but couldn't find him.

Saturday evening the Winnebago County Sheriff's Department received an anonymous tip that the driver of the Saturn was seen at a mobile home park in Greenville.

State troopers responded to that call and found the man.  He was arrested and is being held in the Winnebago County Jail on criminal charges of Eluding an Officer, Recklessly Endangering Safety, Possession of THC and Possession of Drug paraphernalia.
