A man is accused of attacking and injuring police officers in Sturgeon Bay.
Police say the incident happened around 10:30 p.m. Sunday, when officers responded to a west side residence for a verbal disturbance.
As officers were walking up to the residence, police say a 34-year-old man attacked officers. According to police, officers were able to "escort the man to the ground" where the man continued attacking officers.
Police say one of the officers was kicked in the head with the steel toe boots the man was wearing. Once handcuffed, police say the man continued to assault officers by headbutting one of them in the face. Both officers sustained minor injuries.
The man was arrested and taken to the hospital. Once medically cleared, police say he will be taken to the Door County Jail on numerous charges, including Battery To A Law Enforcement Officer.
