ASHWAUBENON, Wis.- John Frank is soaking up the lower gas prices.
"This is great, a guy now can afford to travel if you want to and go and have a good time and have extra money to go out to eat if you like," said John Frank of Cecil.
He's not the only one that's loving the cheap gas.
"Extra money in the pocket means extra money in the slot machines and the blackjack table for us," said Rachelle Oudenhoven of Wrightstown.
Oudenhoven is traveling to Las Vegas with her family. She's just one of hundreds at the airport.
"We topped a half million passengers for the first time this year in over five years," said Appleton International Airport marketing manager, Pat Tracey.
Airport officials say their airfare prices haven't dropped because of fuel prices but they're staying hopeful.
"I can't speak to whether airfare will go down, but we sure hope so," said Tracey.
AAA says there's no guarantee that low oil prices will cause airfare to drop.
"In general their prices have more to do with supply and demand than they do with the gas prices," said AAA field manager, Jack Simono.
However, because people have more money, vacation is on their mind.
"We've had a very strong travel year and our travel agents have been very busy," said Simono.
Frank is just hoping the low gas prices stick around.
"It's good it's nice I hope it keeps on going," laughed Frank.
