De Pere High School was placed on lockdown early Monday morning.
A fight broke out between two students during a physical education class that was being held outside on the football field. According to school leaders, the fight spilled into the parking lot adjacent to Merrill Street.
The school contacted police and placed the school on lockdown for about 30 minutes in order to keep students who were inside the school from going outside to view the fight and to keep the fight from spilling into the school.
School officials are investigating the incident and will administer discipline as appropriate.
