GREENVILLE (NBC 26) -- A new beginning for the YMCA of the Fox Cities took place Thursday. YMCA broke ground on a new child care center expansion project.

According to YMCA directors this new 11,000 square foot addition will meet the needs of the communities growing population especially in children under age 18.

The new space will provide full-time and part-time care for children ages 6 weeks through 12 years old.

“The benefit of the YMCA is that we're able to incorporate our other programming using our pools, gymnasium, so children that are part of our childcare center will be able to partake in those activities,” said Brian Rammer, Executive Director of Fox West YMCA.

They hope to be up and running by June of 2020.
