GREEN LAKE CO. (NBC 26) — A 35-year-old woman is dead after being found downstream along the Fox River in Green Lake County Saturday.
The Sheriff's Office said she was painting an outdoor scene with her 2 dogs earlier off of Huckleberry Road near the river. This afternoon a caller said she couldn't be found. During a search, her hat was found on the ice at the edge of the river near where she was painting; she was found downstream a few hours later about 3/4 of a mile away. One of her dogs was rescued, but the other was not recovered.
Deputies did not release how she died. This is still under investigation.
