OUTAGAMIE COUNTY (NBC 26) — A woman accused of breaking into a house and hiding from police after a hit-and-run crash now faces 16 criminal charges.

Jessica Churchill has been charged with eight counts of felony bail jumping, as well as charges of burglary, driving a vehicle without the owner's consent, resisting or obstructing an officer, hit and run, various drug charges, and operating while revoked.

According to a criminal complaint, police responded early Saturday evening to a reported crash on Interstate 41 northbound and Lynndale Drive in the Town of Grand Chute.

Police found two people in one car who were unhurt but trapped in the vehicle. After getting them out, the complaint states the driver told police she was suddenly rammed from the side while driving and was pushed into the ditch. The complaint also states witnesses reported seeing the woman in the other vehicle get out and run away.

The criminal complaint said Outagamie Dispatch told officers someone in the area of Fox Glove Lane observed a woman enter a residence so officers converged to this residence and confirmed the woman who was involved in the crash had fled into this residence. The complaint said this location was north of the crash where witnesses had also observed this woman flee.

The home was confirmed to be on Fox Glove Drive. When officers arrived at the home, they saw a twelve-year-old child come out of the garage. His parents weren't home. The criminal complaint said the child stated someone was in the home but he wasn't sure who it was. Police reunited the boy with his father, who had been working on building a home down the road.

Officers used a K9 dog to search the home for the woman, later identified as Churchill, who was eventually discovered in an upstairs bedroom and arrested. The criminal complaint says the woman became unconscious and officers used Narcan on her. The criminal complaint also said after using Narcan, she began to kick.

The complaint said she eventually became unconscious again and was buckled down onto a cot. She was taken to a hospital for medical clearance. After being medically cleared, she was taken to Outagamie County Jail.

Churchill is due in court for a preliminary hearing on May 31.
