In honor of the very first Lambeau Leap, the State Assembly has declared Feb. 29, 2020 as "LeRoy's Leap Day."

Back in 1993, Reggie White caused a fumble that was picked up by LeRoy Butler.

Butler then returned the fumble for a touchdown and jumped into the stands in celebration, therefore inventing the Lambeau Leap.

The Lambeau Leap is so iconic that even with the NFL's rules against some celebrations, the leap remains legal, according to the assembly.

When Butler jumped into the stands, he created a Packers tradition that lives on to this day.

To celebrate LeRoy's Leap Day, Butler will raise funds for Hebron Housing Services. He will take time to speak about his experiences overcoming poverty, meet donors, and sign autographs.

All proceeds will go to Hebron Housing Services' mission to end homelessness in Waukesha.
