DE PERE — Nearly a dozen volunteers from Wisconsin are preparing to head to Jacksonville, Florida to help run temporary shelters and provide meals to those displaced by Hurricane Dorian.
One volunteer from De Pere is ready to spend the next two weeks in Florida helping however he can.
"I just get the satisfaction that when someone is down and out, or whether they just need some support and guidance, whatever the case may be, that I’m there to be able to help and support them in some capacity," said volunteer Mark Gallert.
The Red Cross here in northeast Wisconsin plans to send more volunteers to Florida if needed.
