Darrel Moll, 45, of Montello, Wisconsin was arrested for pretending to be kidnapped and tying himself to a chair, according to our partners at WISC-TV in Madison.

A female contacted the Columbia County Sheriff's Office saying she was getting texts and a call from her husband saying he was kidnapped and "being held against his will."

Authorities found Moll strapped to a chair with zip ties at his place of his employment. He told officials in a statement that he was knocked unconscious and woke up several minutes later tied to the chair inside the business. He said an unknown suspect attacked him from behind and hit him over his head.

Moll said the suspect made him call his wife and tell her to comply to the demands or he'd be killed.

No evidence was found during the investigation that supported what Moll said. He did not have any injuries.

Moll admitted in a follow up interview that he lied about the kidnapping and tied himself to the chair.
