GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — Wisconsin Lottery says a married couple from Oneida in Brown County, Tammy and Cliff Webster, have claimed the winning $316.3 million jackpot-winning Powerball ticket sold by Jackson Pointe Citgo in Green Bay earlier this year.

According to the Wisconsin Lottery, the winners opted to take the cash option of $225.1 million rather than annual payments. After federal taxes of $54 million and state taxes of $17.2 million, their final take-home amount is $153.9 million.

The ticket had the winning numbers of 6, 14, 25, 33, 46, Powerball 17 from the January 5, 2022 draw. The couple split the $632.6 million jackpot with another winner who bought a ticket in California. The jackpot was the seventh-largest in Powerball history.

“We are sincerely grateful for this incredible event,” said Tammy. “We always believed that we had a chance to win if we played and this is a dream come true.”

"This is a wonderful blessing, and we are incredibly thankful and most appreciative of this opportunity,” Cliff added.

The Websters are Native Americans. Tammy is part Oneida and part Sioux, and Cliff is Oneida. Both are members of the Oneida Nation.

Jackson Pointe Citgo, located at 2710 Packerland Drive in Green Bay, received a $100,000 incentive for selling the winning ticket.

The assistant manager at the gas station said Cliff was a regular at the gas station

“We’re just excited because they stop in here frequently and working in the neighborhood," said Kristy Sommers. “Yeah we’ve seen him come in every once in a while, grabbing his winning tickets, or any ticket for that matter or maybe a sandwich or something that we serve in our deli.”

For over a month, Sommers said she was frequently bombarded with people asking if anyone had come forward.

“It's going to be more relieving to not having all that build up excitement anymore. It was a daily thing. Anyone who came in to buy lottery tickets was asking if we knew who the winner was,” Sommers said.

She’s just happy she can finally answer that question now.

“To know that it is someone that is regular and not just a customer passing through for like the weekend game or something it just makes it even more exciting that we can share in that joy with one of our locals," Sommers said.

According to friends of the couple NBC 26 reached out to they said Tammy worked at Walmart.

They described her as always smiling and her husband Cliff was described to us as kind and as as a gentlemen.
