WASHINGTON (NBC 26) -- Wisconsin lawmakers have issued statements regarding the Senate's vote to acquit President Donald Trump of impeachment charges Wednesday.
As Senators were called by name in alphabetical order to cast their vote, Wisconsin Senator Tammy Baldwin was one of the first senators to cast a vote. She voted "guilty".
My vote to convict President Trump on abuse of power and obstruction of Congress is a vote to uphold my oath of office - to support and defend the Constitution. I am voting to uphold the rule of law & our American principle that no one, not even the president, is above the law. pic.twitter.com/EvSLCEnGRm

Now every American will have the power to make their own judgment.

I trust the American people. I know they will be guided by our common good, and the truth.
You know what the truth is, and you know in America, it matters.
Senator Ron Johnson voted to acquit President Trump.
Just last year, @SpeakerPelosi said that any impeachment ‘would have to be so clearly bipartisan in terms of acceptance of it.’

Yet that's exactly what House Democrats passed and why I voted to acquit @realDonaldTrump this afternoon. https://t.co/HDSBgw7stI
We are a divided nation, and it often seems the lines are only hardening and growing farther apart. But hope lies in finding what binds us together — our love of freedom, our faith, our families. #impeachment

While not a part of Wednesday's vote, Rep. Mike Gallagher, who represents Wisconsin's 8th congressional district, issued a statement as well.
