The Wisconsin Humane Society is looking for foster parents as it is scheduled to receive its first transport of animals displaced by Hurricane Harvey.
The animals are expected to arrive on Monday, September 4, at the Humane Society's Milwaukee location.
The Humane Society says it is asking for a minimum commitment of keeping an animal until at least September 15.
"These will be animals who were already in-shelter, not pets actually displaced by flooding, as those animals may have owners looking for them," Vice President of Communications Angela Speed explained. "We are working diligently to lock in the details for that transfer and we need your help in creating shelter space for these incoming animals.
The Humane Society also said it is also low on canned dog food, and any donations are appreciated.
