According to state statute, every fourth-grade classroom in Wisconsin can order tree seedlings from the Department of Natural Resources for free.
Teachers can fill out an application online to get their class some seeds and get out and plant.
The offer is part of the DNR's goal to teach students the importance of trees in our environment, and more specifically, it's part of the Arbor Day celebration.
Arbor Day is a holiday in which people are encouraged to go out and plant trees. It takes place the last Friday in April.
Tree seedlings can be purchased by anyone. Sales began Monday.
