GREEN BAY — Sex assault victims deserve swift justice - that's the message from State Attorney General, Josh Kaul.

The Attorney General introduced new legislation Wednesday aimed at preventing future back logs of untested sexual assault kits.

"Survivors of sexual assault who have the courage to come forward and have evidence collected,” Kaul said at a news conference Wednesday. “They should have justice pursued in their cases. And they should not have delays because there's a delay in having sexual assault kits submitted."

More than 50 legislators have co-sponsored the legislation, giving it broad support from both sides.

Kaul says the legislation is designed to help ensure survivors get justice and their cases are given the priority they deserve.
