BROWN CO., Wis. (NBC 26) -- The Brown County Health Department continues to confirm cases of coronavirus among employees at local meat processing plants. Tuesday, President Trump ordered meat processing plants to remain open.

On Tuesday, Brown County confirmed there are 255 COVID-19 cases among employees at the JBS facility in Green Bay, and 145 employees from American Foods Group have the virus. Salm Partners had 17 confirmed cases as of Monday, but released a statement Tuesday stating, in part, "Salm Partners has completed free, voluntary COVID-19 testing for all employees and is awaiting complete testing results before releasing any numbers of individuals infected with the virus."

NBC 26 reached out to JBS to see what the order might mean for the Green Bay plant, as it was voluntarily closed over the weekend for the time being. We have not heard back from the company at this time.

"We're continuing to assess the situation on an individual basis for any facility in Brown County, not just the meat packing industry," said Claire Paprocki with Brown County Public Health. "I would say that's what Brown County will continue to do is assess each situation individually and make sure we're addressing their needs, the community's needs."
