APPLETON (NBC 26) — For more than three decades, one area group has been doing what they can to make sure no goes hungry on Christmas and Easter.
On Sunday, dozens of volunteers joined together in Appleton to make their traditional ham and turkey dinners.
From the kitchen preparing the food to others serving the meals and packing them.
And that didn’t stop there, volunteers also lined up in their vehicles to load up meals and deliver them to people across the Fox Valley.
“We’ve asked people to pre-register before we had to have a rough idea. We prepped for 2,500 and like I said we’re over 16 hundred a while back, not sure where we are right now”, said Ed Rathsack, We Care Meals Organizer.
Rathsack says these efforts are done out of everyone’s generosity to make sure everyone has a warm meal on Easter.
