GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — "We can’t stop COVID without you," is the message Advocate Aurora Health is sending in the form of a full-page newspaper ad released in several different Sunday editions.

Advocate Aurora Health said the newspaper ad was published in Sunday's editions of the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and Green Bay Press-Gazette.

"Beds are full. Wait times are long," states the ad's copy.

Advocate Aurora says it currently has about three times more COVID-19 patients at its 26 hospitals across Illinois and Wisconsin than it did just eight weeks ago. That’s more than at any other point this year, according to the health system.

"More than 90% of all COVID inpatients are unvaccinated or due for a booster. This is preventable, but only if we work together," Advocate Aurora stated in a press release promoting the newspaper ad.

The ad ends by asking people to get vaccinated and boosted, wear a mask, and stay home if sick.
