GREEN BAY (NBC 26) -- A local nonprofit says they have seen an influx of people coming to them for assistance amid the coronavirus outbreak, which has impacted their supplies and funds. They are asking people to help through donations of items or to donate money during this time.

We All Rise: African American Resource Center is an organization directed at helping black lives in and around Green Bay. They say normal operation hours have continued with new precautions put into place since the outbreak.

Since the Safer-At-Home order, most shelters in the area have put in place new restrictions and limitations. Because of the this, We All Rise has seen an influx of people at their doors.

We All Rise says they are seeing adults fleeing domestic violence being pushed to living with children in their car or hotels. With limited services from domestic violence shelters in town, We All Rise has stepped in to get these people food, hotel vouchers, diapers, clothes and other necessary essentials as they try to start stabilizing their life.

According to the organization, another common situation is people who have been staying with friends or couch surfing are being kicked out because of quarantining and the fear of the virus. They say their partnership with Transformation House has been essential during this difficult time, but they have also been providing emergency financial assistance to people for rent or security deposits.

The nonprofit has also been working closely with Paul's Pantry, Boys and Girls Club, and Green Bay Area Public Schools meal programs to provide meals as well as household hygiene essentials to people in need. This could be due to not being able to afford the items due to not working from coronavirus-related closures, but some can't find necessary items because of others hoarding during the crisis. Even while using these other programs, We All Rise cannot keep up with the demand of food for clients, especially with the amount of crisis clients they have been seeing over the past week.

We All Rise is asking people to help through physical and monetary donations during this pandemic.

Item donations can be dropped off at their office on 529 S. Jefferson St. Suite 10 in Green Bay. Their hours of operation is Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can call them at 920-785-9115 for assistance in unloading. They are looking for the following items:

  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Clorox Wipes
  • Lysol Spray
  • Nonperishable Food Items
  • Hand Soap
  • Deodorant (both men's and women's)
  • Toothpaste
  • Shampoo
  • Body Soap
  • Coffee
  • Coffee Creamer
