MANAWA (NBC26) -- — The rain couldn't keep more than one hundred local Republicans from coming out to show their support for President Trump today.
"I'm 75 years old, I've lived through all kinds of stuff, I went through all kinds of presidents," said Judi Anthony, from Wisconsin Rapids. "He's the only one who is working for the people. Nobody else has done that.
"I am here to celebrate America," said Joyce Slack, from Plover, "to celebrate a president that cares about you and me."
The day featured music, free food, music and raffles. There were speeches from Mike Gallagher, congressman of Wisconsin's 8th district, and Ben Armstrong, talk show host on WSAU.
"I think America is not a racist nation," said Armstrong. "I think Donald Trump understands it's not a racist nation. I think Joe Biden thinks it's a racist nation. And I'm here to refute that. We're the land of liberty and freedom."
While local democrats took a different approach to rallying today, the urgency for both parties to get their candidates elected is high.
