SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (NBC 26) — A water rescue search resumes at 8 a.m. Tuesday morning, after a man may have jumped into Lake Michigan.

The incident began around 10:30 p.m. Monday night, when Sheboygan Fire Department was sent to assist the Sheboygan Police Department in a search for a man who had possibly jumped from the north break wall into Lake Michigan.

According to the man’s family, who was on scene, the man was last seen removing his clothing and running with the intent of jumping into the water.

The Sheboygan County Dive team, Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department, US Coast Guard Station Sheboygan and a US Coast Guard Helicopter from Air Station Waukegan all helped with the search, before it was called off around 2 a.m. due to lake and weather conditions.

The search is set to resume at 8 a.m.
