Voting is now open for the B.R.A.s of the Bay event in Green Bay.

Area businesses and individuals have decorated bras to be raffled off. All proceeds will benefit the Ribbon of Hope Foundation which serves people with breast cancer in Northeast Wisconsin.

The goal of the event is not only to raise funds, but also to raise awareness about breast reconstruction.

There is a federal law that mandates that insurance coverage be provided for anyone that wants to go through breast reconstruction after cancer treatment.

"Breast reconstruction can have profound physical and emotional benefits for patients," said Dr. Elizabeth O'Connor, a plastic surgeon with BayCare Clinic. "We know patients do a lot better if they understand their rights, they understand what reconstruction entails, they know the different options out there, and they know that going into the mastectomy."

The bras are currently on display at their designated locations.

Voting ends October 16th at midnight. The winner will be announced at the B.R.A.s of the Bay event on Thursday October 17th.
