The Village of Bellevue is thankful for donations towards a new jon boat.
With the wide-spread flooding expected this spring, Bellevue Public Safety planned to buy a jon boat to help them get people out safely during a flood.
From anonymous donors and other community organizations so far, they've raised enough money for the boat and hope they raise additional funds for cold water rescue gear. One set of gear costs about one thousand dollars.
"Not if it's when the flooding levels are predicted to be at all-time highs and this is something normally what we would do is borrow boats,” said Jack Mlnarik with the Village of Bellevue. “But the reality is those will be used because they'll be having issues also."
