APPLETON (NBC 26) — Valley Transit, the public transportation service in the Fox Cities, released a statement of solidarity with the Asian community in response to the deadly Atlanta area shootings.

“As the general manager of Valley Transit, I speak for our entire team when I say we condemn last week’s tragic events and want all members of our community to know that hate has no home on the Valley Transit bus system. We will not tolerate racial hate, intolerance or discrimination of any kind,” said Valley Transit general manager, Ron McDonald.

Valley Transit is one of several organizations that has publicly denounced last week’s shootings. The Appleton Police Department and the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region have released similar statements as well. The Foundation is currently accepting donations for local non-profits led by Asian Americans.

"Valley Transit has been the public transportation resource in the Fox Cities for more than 40 years and will always proudly serve people of all colors, creeds and walks of life, getting riders to where they need to go in a safe and healthy manner," a statement from Valley Transit reads.
