Unattended candle likely starts house fire in Neenah

NEENAH, Wis. (NBC26) -- Firefighters spent the night battling a house fire in Winnebago County.

It started around 8 p.m. on the 900 block of Terra Cotta Drive in the town of Neenah.

When crews arrived on scene they found smoke and flames shooting from the second story of the home.

One person and three dogs were able to safely evacuate the home before the fire department arrived.

There were no reported injuries.

Fire crews were called back out to the fire around 1 a.m. after the fire started back up again.

According to the fire department, a candle was left unattended and likely started the fire.

Damage estimates are $100,000.
