APPLETON (NBC 26) -- Two pet rabbits were found abandoned in an Appleton park last week. The Appleton Police Department is now asking for the public's help in solving the case.
The Appleton Police Department says the two domesticated rabbits were found in an abandoned box in Peabody Park. They were taken to the Fox Valley Humane Association and are said to be doing well.
The department is reminding the public that anyone with a pet they can no longer care for should contact FVHA to discuss the surrender process. It is a state crime to abandon animals.
Anyone with information on the abandoned rabbits is asked to contact Appleton Police.
