GREEN BAY, Wis (NBC 26) -- Two peaceful protests are scheduled this weekend in Green Bay and both organizers and law enforcement are prepping tonight for the unknown turnout from the public.
The Green Bay Police say right now they have no reason to believe that either of the protests should lead to rioting or looting. They are both anticipated to be peaceful protests according to police. Police leaders say they have been in communication with organizers of both of the protests and have tried to overcommunicate that at 9 pm curfew will go into effect. Already some organizers are saying they plan on abiding by the curfew in place.
It's our community and we took the time to build this and we don't want any damage to come to it," says Najma Hurre an organizer of Saturday's event.
"We're trying to do everything the right way we're not trying to disrupt. Come out make your voice heard, it matters," adds Indira Hodges who is also organizing Saturday's event.
Saturday's protest starts at noon in front of Green Bay's City Hall and Sunday's protest begins at Leicht Memorial Park at 11 am. Both of the protests have a goal of marching to the Green Bay Police Department.
