GREEN BAY (NBC 26) -- Two Northeast Wisconsin men are facing federal charges of criminal conspiracy and odometer tampering.

According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, 35-year-old Robert J. Solberg of Green Bay and 38-year-old Joshua A. Taylor of Crivitz, were indicted by a federal grand jury on Tuesday.

Solberg and Taylor are accused of buying used vehicles and changing or replacing the vehicles' odometers before selling them to unsuspecting buyers. Authorities allege that hundreds of thousands of miles were removed from some vehicles prior to sale. Solberg and Taylor are also accused of misrepresented the age of the vehicles in order to increase profits.

Both Solberg and Taylor could each face up to 8 years in prison if convicted on all counts. They also face about $250,000 in fines for each count.
