WAUSHARA COUNTY (NBC 26) — Two people were killed in a head-on crash in Waushara County on Saturday.
The Sheriff's Office reports they received several 911 calls reporting a head-on crash on Jan. 9, just before 6 p.m., on State Road 21 near County Road V.
Investigators believe an eastbound vehicle attempted to pass a semi and struck a westbound vehicle.
The drivers of both vehicles were pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the westbound vehicle was taken to UW Hospital.
The names of the victims have not been released.
These are the first traffic fatalities in Waushara County for 2021, according to authorities.
