WINNEBAGO COUNTY (NBC 26) -- Winnebago County authorities are searching for two dogs who went missing after a traffic crash.

The Sheriff's Office said there was a two vehicle crash at the intersection of STH 21 and Oakwood Rd, in the Town of Algoma at around 11:25 a.m. Tuesday.

"These two dogs were inside one of the vehicles, and are now lost and scared, and possibly injured, somewhere in the area," the Sheriff's Office stated in a Facebook post.

If you spot the dogs, you are asked not to chase them, but to call the owner directly at 920-290-2323. The Sheriff's Office says dogs get spooked after being in a crash, and its better to simply report a sighting and to let the owner retrieve their dogs. You can also call the Sheriff's Office at 920-236-7300.

The dogs' names are Teago, who is the Bloodhound, and Tide, who is the Chesapeake.
