OUTAGAMIE COUNTY (NBC 26) -- Law enforcement officials say two men charged in two different child homicide cases are now accused of trying to escape from Outagamie County Jail.

Matthew Beyer is accused of killing his two children in Kaukauna back in February and now he's been charged with attempting to escape from jail.

According to Beyer’s charging documents, Beyer allegedly partnered with another inmate, Demetrius Williams, to try to escape from jail Sunday night.

Court documents say Williams grabbed a corrections officer and used a sharpened pencil to attempt to threaten the officer and try to escape.

The corrections officer was able to distract Williams and run away. Both men were taken back to their cells. No one was hurt.

Demetrius Williams is accused of killing 3-year-old Zyana Corbin in Appleton back in February.
