APPLETON (NBC 26) — Tuesday is National Agriculture Day. Here in Northeast Wisconsin, Fox Valley Technical College celebrated the day by highlighting diversity in its agriculture programs.
The college says it has seen a 26% increase in female enrollment in its 38 Ag-related programs over the past three years.
“Industry has been a great driving force for us as a college. They are changing themselves as gaining more women in agriculture, and those women are empowering more to get involved,” said Mary Fronek, Agriculture Technology Instructor at FVTC
Wisconsin’s agriculture sector contributes to nearly 105 billion dollars annually to the state's economy and almost 438,000 jobs.
