Titletown Winter Games welcomes Olympic athletes, Arctic Blast offers fun in the cold

ASHWAUBENON (NBC 26) -- Titletown Winter Games have come once again to Green Bay and welcomes several Olympic athletes as their special guests. This free winter sports event offers people the chance to enjoy trying many winter activities over the weekend.

Titletown offers people a thrilling experience of luge, curling, biathlon and cross-country skiing, ski jumping and figure skating all with the support of several Olympic special guests who all have strong ties to Wisconsin.

Titletown welcomes three-time Olympian and 1998 Olympic silver medalist Gordy Sheer and Sochi Olympian Aidan Kelly along with the Wisconsin-based Junior National Team athletes from USA Luge. 2002 Nordic Combined Olympian, Jed Hinkley and 2018 Nordic Combined Olympian, Ben Berend will also be at the Winter Games event.

Arctic Blast: An Ice + Music Festival will kick off the weekend and continues the fun after dark on both Friday and Saturday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. each night. This festival is aimed at complementing the winter sports atmosphere by including ice bars, ice sculptures, live music, and other entertainment.

The Arctic Blast features a combined total of 59,700 pounds in ice sculptures, which equals more than the weight of 8,528 Lombardi trophies! These ice sculptures will have taken almost 300 working hours for sculptors to construct. The ice sculptures will be on display during the entirety of the festival.
