BELLEVUE, Wis. — NBC 26 partnered with Festival Foods and Y100 for the Food for Neighbors Food Drive Friday.

From 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. we collected non-perishable food items and monetary donations to help feed our neighbors in need in Northeast Wisconsin.

The food drive took place at Festival Foods Green Bay East on Steffens Court.

Despite the rainy day, the community showed its support by coming out and donating multiple boxes of food.

"It looked like a welcomed opportunity to help those in need," said Deanna Mathys who dropped off some donations after shopping.

She said she has a big reason for donating.

"Been there one time in my life, and I know how important it is," said Mathys.

She said she's glad she can pay it back now and help someone else in the same spot she was in once.

"We want to, you know, give you a meal for a week. Make sure that you never, like I said, never have to wonder where your next meal is coming from," said Kyle "The Big" Lewandowski with Y100.

Every donation whether food or money is going to Manna For Life Ministries Food Pantry.

"I feel good. It feels really good inside. It really does, you know, and I'm really happy I'm able to do that now," added Mathys.
