APPLETON, Wis. (NBC 26) -- October is domestic violence awareness month and the Harbor House in Appleton is excited for the community to get involved with its third Purple Porch Project.
It was an initiative Senior Manager of Donor Relations and Communications with Harbor House, Cassie McDonald, says they saw gaining popularity on the west coast and wanted to bring to Northeast Wisconsin to continue to spread awareness of domestic violence and domestic violence prevention.
The nonprofit says this is also a great way to financially show your support for victims of domestic violence. This Wednesday, September 23rd from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. they will have a booth set up by the Harbor House mural selling the lights. The lights are $10 or a larger donation, if you would like and the funds go directly towards supporting Harbor House programs.
