GREEN BAY (NBC 26) -- Bishop David L. Ricken of the Green Bay Diocese has reinstated obligation to attend Sunday Mass, effective the weekend of September 19 and 20.

"[T]he time has come for Catholics to return to worship God at Mass on Sundays," Bishop Ricken stated in an official decree.

Back in March, Catholics were granted a dispensation from the obligation to attend Mass due to concerns of COVID-19 spread.

There are some exemptions to the reinstated obligation, including those with health concerns and those who are sick or may have come in contact with someone who was sick.

The diocese also issued guidelines for public Masses, which includes a requirement to wear masks.
