MARINETTE CO. (NBC 26) — Sunday, the Marinette County Sheriff's Office said it had a "successful" foot search for missing woman Jeanette Fullerton, last seen in 2017.
Marinette Co. Sheriff Jerry Sauve said 110 people assisted in the extensive foot search for Jeanette. He said one search team found clothing matching what she was last seen wearing and bones nearby that appeared to be human.
According to Sheriff Sauve, the clothes and bones were found about two miles from Jeanette's home. He said they were also about a half mile through woods and swamp from where recent trail camera photos were discovered of Jeanette the morning she went missing in 2017.
The Sheriff's Office said the remains will be forensically examined for confirmation that they are that of this missing women.
The Fullerton family along with the Wagner Fire Department and Sheriff's Office extends its thanks to every volunteer for their assistance. This includes the local businesses and individuals who donated and prepared food for the search teams.
The case remains under investigation.
