SUAMICO, Wis. — (UPDATED 11:00 pm)

Brown County Sheriff's Office Deputies responded to the area of Longtail Beach Lane in the Village of Suamico for reports of rising floodwaters after a storm rushed in strong gusts of wind.

According to the Brown County Sheriff's Office, the high winds forced waters from the Door County area down into the Bay of Green Bay and into local rivers.

Sheriff's Deputies along with the Suamico Fire Department were able to help residents evacuate from the area.

Two families were displaced from their homes and the power was off in the area for a brief period.

Just before 9:00 the water receded. Still no word on whether residents were allowed to return to their homes
