SUAMICO, Wis (NBC26) -- The Suamico Fire Department has begun training after receiving a new tool to help firefighters with rescuing people in water and ice emergencies. The team received a multi-purpose Rapid Deployment Craft the last week of December after a local business and the Firefighters Association donated the funds along with the department to acquire the $6000 craft.
The crew spent the morning with NBC26 Today sharing more about the Rapid Deployment craft, otherwise known as RDC and how they'll use it.
The firefighters will spend the next couple of weeks continuing to train with the gear so they're ready in the case they will ever need it.
