OSHKOSH, Wis. (NBC 26) -- The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is reminding sturgeon spearers they have until October 31, 2020 to purchase a license.
The 2021 sturgeon spearing season opens February 13, 2021 for Lake Winnebago and the Upriver Lakes.
The season will run for a maximum of 16 days or until any harvest caps are met.
Licenses can be purchased here. You must be at least 12 years old.
There are an unlimited amount of licenses available for Lake Winnebago.
The Upriver Lakes fishery is limited to 500 permitted spearers.
